It's over...
ORCA is over. It seems too simple a statement to say and the truth feels soooo painfully blunt. But all the effort we put in was worth it cos ORCA was a success! I enjoyed myself throughout the two incredibly short days which was a complete contrast to the two extremely long weeks preceding the culturals when we worked our behinds off. It was an unforgettable experience for me- the chance to be the MC, to organise 3 events, to handle LA Speak...it was absolutely brilliant! I loved typing all sorts of rubbish on the message board and making fun of the contestants, especially the ones who had these annoying fake accents. I had a blast during the first round of VJ Wannabe, slept during the second round (I blame the food), and woke up and had a blast again in the third round. The awesome part was when John Britto said that the message board rocked. Yay!
The Riddle Wreck and Kryptobyte competitions were zimply zuperb. Aakar Dhoom Machale (Family Fortunes) had some hiccups but overall it was awesome- the audience really liked it. We had S.J Suryah as the Chief Guest for the inauguration. Heh. And Kareena Kapoor as the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Ceremony (No heh's there!). I got to wear a suit and all but unfortunately Kareena couldn't see me cos I came too late for the closing ceremony. Maybe Kareena will be luckier some other time.
Hey stop throwing slippers on me!!
ORCA was such a fun experience for me, incredibly tiring yet so enjoyable… and now… it’s over. ORCA is over, but I’m glad, glad that I was a part of it.

Life
Thursday, September 29, 2005 on the Society blog.
Well, all my friends are in Goa( yes, Goa!) and as i'm sitting here wondering what it would be like to have my own pet dog, I remembered that I had promised Neon one good Society post before he returned. Now u all know how i love doing nothing and i was too busy doing nothing to write a blog post this whole week. Neon returns tomorrow and this is my last chance to post something. Being isolated for a week has given me the opprtunity to think about Life and Everything. So here goes...
I often feel life is like an onion... it smells, it's made up of many layers and it makes you cry. You can also buy a dozen for Rs15 only. I quote from the best book of all time, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which says about the Earth,
"This planet had a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem and most of them were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."
Another question that i was joblessly thinking about was "Why were we created?". I don't refer only to us but the Earth and everything on it. I mean what is the point. We live, we die and no one really cares what goes on in between. We believe( rather some of us believe) in a God. Well , then what does God get out of creating us. What's his profit, his purpose and more importantly where is his toilet?
Going back to God; who thought of this guy/girl/hommie anyway. Does he/she/(?) exist? If so why? And more importantly can we sue him?
Another question that bothers me is that if there is a God, then why in hell(?) did he make man imperfect? Wouldn't it be better for everyone if he made us perfect in the beginning? But that leads us to the question of whether God is a sadist.
I was introspecting never suspecting that my toast was burning, I will conclude, don't be rude and don't bother asking whether God is nude.
P.S. People say I'm weird, I say Life is weirder, but Cabbage is the weirdest.
ciao for now,
Meson Lurk.(In keeping spirit with the anagram craze)
May the force be with you.
While the rest were in Goa...
Hey,
This is an account of what i was doing while the rest were enjoying themselves in Goa. For an exact account of why i didn't go to Goa please visit the Society blog at The Society of People who have Nothing To Do.
This account is not going to be interesting. Why? you ask. Well, that's 'cause i didn't do much when i stayed here. i mean how much can you do alone???
The highlight of my seven days of solitary confinement was probably the Friends Season 3 episodes which I borrowed from Akshay(thanks!). The rest of the time was spent alternately between doing my Records( yech!) and playing the PS2. I infinitely preferred the latter.
I also spent a lot of my time reading Science Fiction books like "Falling sideways". ( A short version of this story would include the whole of Earth being a mistake of superintelligent life-forms who are frogs, and a man falling in love with a painting of a girl called Philipa Levens who has been dead 400 years and bringing her back to life by cloning her from the DNA in a lock of hair he bought for $12,500 . (The clone cost only $100.)
Complicated. Hell, ya! It took me two readings to understand what the book is about.
A little of my time I spent, thinking about Life. I posted these thoughts on the Society blog. But due to popular demand[ ;) ] , I'm posting these thoughts (above).
That's about all I did during the last 7 days. I had fun( you would never believe it, I don't!) in my own way and I presume(!!!) that the Goans had fun too.
May the force be with you.

Anyway all the Lady Andal 12th standard students who want to join this blog are welcome to join but please post regularly cos u know the blog will cease to exist unless you post.
